Programme Overview

Learners will understand that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, processing, packing and handling of food. The topics of this qualification are regarded by the Foods Standards Agency as being important to maintaining good practice in the production of safe food.
Learners will use an e-learning module with guidance from a trainer to gain the knowledge required. They will be required to sit and pass a multi choice exam at the end of training.

The objective of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment as a food handler working in a manufacturing environment, or to support a role in the workplace. This qualification will provide basic knowledge to all to ensure that food handlers have the correct knowledge and skills required.
