GEM Partnership Awarded Better Health at Work Gold Award
We are delighted to have been awarded the Better Health at Work Gold Award for our dedication to employee wellbeing and our work in the local community.
The Better Health at Work Awards scheme is based in the North East of England and recognises employers addressing health issues in the workplace. Research by the Mental Health Foundation shows that 1 in 6 people experience mental health problems in the workplace, with 13% of sickness absence days attributed to mental health conditions.
We are committed to ensuring our employees feel supported and nurtured in their work environment. In 2022, we ran a range of initiatives which were recognised for the award, including training employees as health advocates and mental health first aiders. The training involved learning skills on a range of subjects including being positive; coordinating and promoting health needs; offering support and advice; and presenting important mental health information for employees.
The award also recognises our effort to support our local community throughout the past year. We raised money for charities, donated to local foodbanks, and began a sponsorship with local sports club Hebburn Town Juniors which you can read more about here. Ruth Jackson, Compliance Manager at GEM Partnership, also took part in the Great North Run and raised an incredible £220 for the Macmillan charity.
