Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Despatch Manager operatives for our client based in Felling.
Experience is not necessary and training will be given. Candidates must be aware the role is target driven within a fast-paced warehouse environment so there is a requirement to cover a lot of distance around the site.
Main Duties:
• Oversee daily despatch operations, ensuring the efficient and accurate picking and despatching of ambient and chilled hampers.
• Develop and implement despatch policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Coordinate with warehouse, production, inventory and commercial teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of despatch staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Manage the despatch schedule to ensure timely delivery of orders.
• Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers.
• Address and resolve any issues related to order despatch or customer complaints.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance despatch efficiency.
• Utilize data and analytics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to despatch operations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize despatch processes and reduce errors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including those pertaining to bonded goods and food safety.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of product quality.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by regulatory bodies.
• Liaise with suppliers and couriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and finished products.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and couriers.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favourable terms.
• Work closely with the inventory management team to ensure accurate stock levels.
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering and delivery of supplies.
• Ensure regular maintenance and calibration of equipment as required, without comprising Food safety and standards.
• Documentation of all maintenance and calibration activities.
• Address and resolve customer complaints related to despatch and delivery.
• Implement measures to improve customer satisfaction and delivery performance based on feedback.
• Maintain open communication with customers to ensure their delivery expectations are met.
Requirements:

• Proficiency in despatch software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.

• Customer-focused with a proactive approach to service delivery.
• All employees will contribute towards the success of the Quality Management System, the HACCP Plan and the associated Prerequisite Programs.
Hours of Work:
• Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.
• The despatch function runs 7 days per week.
• Overtime on Saturday and Sunday is available once training is completed.
Salary:
£34,000
