Better Health at Work – Maintaining Excellence Award
Following on from being awarded Continuing Excellence last year, the company and our Better Health at Work team set the goal to achieve Maintaining Excellence in for 2025 and following some fantastic work, initiatives and commitment business wide we are delighted to say we have been successful in achieving the standard.
Whilst continuing and building on the work that contributed toward achieving Continuing Excellence, the team lead on some great projects such as our Charity Football Tournament held in August which went on to raise £2616, the March 100 Miles Physical Activity Challenge which generated a total of over 1000 miles and the continuing investment in the businesses commitment toward it’s apprenticeship programme.
Our Project Lead for the award said:
The content of the campaigns is excellent and good to see that considerable thought and planning go into the activities, they incorporate fund raising into these too and ensure that it is not just information sharing it is very much hands on, which encourages most staff to be involved. The award is driven by the Senior Leadership Team who are passionate about embedding Health and Wellbeing into the organisation, they are also very proactive and get involved in the campaign activity too.
It was great to see that Gem value their apprenticeship programme and invest in young people, allowing them the opportunity to be involved in the delivery of the award and giving them this responsibility with support and guidance, it was apparent that they really enjoyed this element of their roles.
