GEM Partnership Spotlight – May 2024

May sees us mark the third instalment in our new Spotlight series. Missed that last two? Why not read March and April

We’re highlighting another member of the GEM team this month, Dylan King.

Dylan is has recently moved into a Account Coordinator role with a client in Newton Aycliffe and is also working toward a Level 2 Recruitment Resourcer apprenticeship. He was nominated for the spotlight this month by his manager, Chris Boughen who said:

“Dylan has only recently moved into the role and has excelled from the get go. His dedication and accountability for the tasks he’s required to complete has been fantastic, outside from the day to day duties and queries, Dylan performs a critical role independently on a morning to collate the absence calls, provide information to the supervision on site so they can then plan the shift proactively.

This process has been a huge focus area of the Senior Management Team with our client and the feedback has been nothing but positive regarding the improvements GEM have made in this area. I’ve had direct feedback from the client on Dylan and the supervisors don’t provide positive feedback without justification. In addition to this, Dylan’s impact on recruitment is always positive, providing good quality candidates in good volume”.

We spoke with Dylan regarding his new role and apprenticeship:

You have recently changed role and moved to an on site role, how have you found this and what have been the challenges?

“I have enjoyed the role so far, working in a supportive team and building client relationships. There have been challenges since coming into the role, for example, I feel like it took some time to adapt and get used to the new role. To overcome this, I just had to be confident in my decision-making and confident during inductions/interviews.”

How have you found your apprenticeships have supported your development whilst working with GEM?

“I have enjoyed parts of my apprenticeship so far, despite not feeling like I am near the end of the apprenticeship. I started slow with my trainers swapping and just now feel like I am up to speed. Kayleigh always offers her support but it can be challenging at times with her not being based on site”
