15 Years of GEM Partnership

In September this year, GEM Partnership celebrated 15 years of service!

In September 2009, after many eventful moments GEM Partnership came to fruition and began it’s (ongoing!) 15 year journey in providing Recruitment and Training services.

To add some context and provide a little journey down memory lane, in 2009…

  • Barack Obama was inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States
  • Slumdog Millionaire won Best Picture at the 81st Academy Awards
  • The first case of Swine Flu was found in the UK
  • Microsoft released Windows 7
  • Avatar become the highest grossing film of all time
  • And the most memorable event of the year, GEM Partnership was founded…

Since then, as Directors Ian Miller, Lee Rankin, Maria Miller and Rob Dunbar can attest so, a rollercoaster of a journey has took place and lead to present day in which GEM Partnership has become a leader in it’s service provision and overcame many challenges along the way such as; recessions, contracts wins and losses, Brexit, COVID and the cost of living crisis.

However; despite these challenges, GEM have navigated pitfalls and grown with the landscape around us and always looked to develop our offering to clients, customers and candidates alike.

Having had several iterations over the years like; GEM Professional Services, GEM Talent Search, GEM Training and GEM Premium People, which all pulled together to form GEM Partnership, ultimately rebranding into where we are today, which demonstrates our philosophy of providing a complete, 360 degree service.

To mark this fantastic achievement, the company held a celebration event on Friday 11th October, with a presentation from the Directors about the companies journey with some fantastic stories and their recognition of the workforce and the pivotal part they play in what makes GEM… GEM.

Ruth Jackson and Rob Mayman have been a part of that journey, from inception and were given special recognition for the incredible work they have done over the years, as well as other long service employees such as Rob Joyce (13 years), Stacey Spence (11 years), Chris Boughen (11 years), Julie Hunter (11 years) and Annie Dorner (10 years).

Celebrations moved on to the Purple Peacock and the guys let their hair down and enjoyed the evening together and fully marked a momentous occasion.
